2008 Road Running Grand Prix

There will be 8 races in the series

  • Blisworth: 5km: May 9th
  • Tiffield: 4 mile: July 12th
  • Wellingborough: 5 mile: Aug 3rd
  • Blisworth: 5 mile: Aug 15th
  • Moulton: 10km: Aug 24th
  • Cransley: ½ Mar.: Sep 21st
  • East Carlton: 5 mile: Sep 28th
  • Daventry: 6 mile

Individual Competitions

All individuals who participate as members of the above clubs will automatically be entered.
There will be an open category for both male & female.
For each race the scoring will be 100 for the first, 99 second, 98 third etc. The total for the best five will count.
In the event of a tie at the end of the series, the following will decide positions:

  1. The ‘head to head’ count. i.e just consider the races where the individuals competed against each other. If still equal
  2. Consider the best six, then seven, then eight.
Veterans

There will be two separate vets competition for males & females. The categories being Over 40 and Over 50 for males, Over 35 and Over 45 for females. If someone changes category during the year, then they can count in the new vets category but only for the races for which they qualify. However if for example a 49 year old man becomes 50 during the year he can still count in the Over 40’s competition for that year. The rules will be the same as for the open category above, except that the scoring will go 50, 49, 48 etc.

Team Competitions

All clubs that are fully paid up members of Northants AA will be automatically entered.

For each race there will be an open male, female and combined team race.
Males: The total of the best four (using the scoring for individuals) will count.
Females: The total of the best three.
Combined: The scores for the male and female teams will be added together.
For each race points will be awarded. 10 for the first team, 9 for the second etc. At the end of the series the total of the best six (points) counts. In the event of a tie:

  1. The best seven are counted. If still equal then
  2. The best eight.
  3. The total overall team scores added together.
Trophies

For all individual/team competitions will be three trophies.
